Adaptability in the face of adversity

Felix dotted the landscape of urban India with many signages in vibrant colors and bold strokes for 16 years.

He had his life cut out for him. Being in a senior position in a printing business with a wonderful boss, and above all, he loved his job, but tragedy struck when the boss passed away. The boss’ wife and daughter did try to run the company on their own but before something could come of it, the wife too passed away within a year.

With the company closing its doors, Felix sought new opportunities. He secured a position with the late boss’s partner to paste vinyl posters across the city, but then the pandemic hit, disrupting industries far and wide. With a wife and two kids to support, Felix had to adapt to the circumstances. He explored various business ventures, including his expertise in printing, but the economic downturn limited success.

But something like the pandemic could not suppress the industrious nature of Felix, so he took the only route available at the time – the delivery route. Food delivery was an essential service in the pandemic years so he got a job thanks to his neighbor’s suggestion.

Now balancing three options—full-time delivery, family time, and signage work— Felix now has the option to work at his leisure and pace. He does a full shift as a delivery person, spends time with his family and even works on his signage business. Given the rapport he had built with his clients over the years, they still call him to work. 

That being said, nothing in the world can keep him from doing what he loves the most – providing for his family.
